West, Mrs. George (1815 - 28 JUN 1894)
Mrs. West, wife of George West of Pleasant Ridge, Clark County,
died at her home, Wednesday night, June 28th, 1894, of paralysis,
at the age of 79 years. The funeral was held at Pleasant Ridge
Church, conducted by Rev. Foster, and the remains were interred in
the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.
She was born in Willshire, England in 1815, and was married at the
same place 56 years ago to George West. They lived in England until
1849, when they, with their family, set sail for America and landed
in New York City Nov. 1st. From there they went to Oconomowoc,
Wis., where they lived until 1853, at which time they came to Clark
County and settled on the farm where she spent her last days.
The deceased was a woman of quaint English type, peculiar to the
Shire people. She was a most earnest Christian and a woman who made
her home her world.
