ROSETTA HORSWILL DIES AT NEILLSVILLE
Rosetta C. Horswill, age 47, of 145 East 6th
St., Neillsville, Clark County, died early Monday morning, June 9,
at Neillsville Memorial Hospital, Services were held Wednesday,
June 11 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Neillsville and
burial was at St. Steven's Catholic Cemetery at Chili. Father
Donald Klauke officiated.
Rosetta C. Horswill was born at Granton to John and Mary Paun,
March 19, 1928. She was educated in the Neillsville schools. She
was married Aug. 10, 1946 at Bakerville, Wis. to Robert J. Horswill
and returned to Neillsville.
Survivors include one son, Jerry of Neillsville, a daughter,
Marilyn, (Mrs. Dennis Spiegel ) of Neillsville, her mother, Mrs.
John Paun, two sister, Marjorie, (Mrs. George Neilsen) of Wisconsin
Rapids, and Sharon, (Mrs. Larry Steinwagner) of Granton, one
brother, Louie Paun of Granton and one grandson. She was preceded
in death by her father, John, her husband, Robert, and two
brothers, Robert and Norman.

Horswill, Rosetta C. (19 March 1928 – 9 June 1975)
Mrs. Rosetta C. Horswill, 47, of Neillsville, collapsed while mowing the lawn at
her home on East Sixth St. Sunday evening and was taken to Memorial Hospital
where she succumbed early Monday morning, June 9, of an apparent heart attack.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at 11 a.m. from St. Mary’s Catholic Church
with the Rev. Donald Klauke of St. Stephen’s Catholic Church, Chili,
officiating. Burial was in St. Stephen’s parish cemetery at Chili. The Rosary
was recited Tuesday evening at the Georgas-Gesche Funeral home, where the body
of Mrs. Horswill was in state.
Rosetta Horswill, the daughter of Mrs. Mary Billy Paun of Granton and the late
John Paun, was born March 19, 1928, in the Granton Area. She was educated in the
Neillsville schools, graduating from Neillsville High School. After graduation,
she worked in Chicago for two years, then returned to Neillsville following her
marriage. She was married to Robert J. Horswill on August 10, 1946, at
Bakerville. Mr. Horswill died November 21, 1972.
Mrs. Horswill was employed as a secretary at Neillsville High School for the
past eight years and was formerly employed at the Neillsville Red Owl store. She
was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and of its PCCW.
Survivors, in addition to her mother, Mrs. John (Mary) Paun of Granton, include
two children, Jerry Horswill and Mrs. Dennis (Marilyn) Spiegel, both of
Neillsville; two sisters, Mrs. George (Marjorie) Neilsen of Wisconsin Rapids and
Mrs. Larry (Sharon) Steinwagner of Granton; one brother Louis Paun of Granton;
and one grandson, Ryan.

Funeral services were held June 11 from St. Mary’s Catholic Church for Rosetta
C. Horswill, 47, of Neillsville, who died June 9. The Rev. Donald Klauke
officiated, and interment followed in St. Stephen’s Catholic Cemetery, Chili.
Pallbearers were Hugh Howard, Henry Lukes, Donald Paulus, Louis Rosandich, Anton
Rosandich and John Janis.
St Mary’s choir sang, with Mrs. Glen Short as accompanist.
Relatives and friends from out of town who attended the services came from
Milwaukee, Evanston, Il., Hales Corners, Janesville, Wisconsin Rapids,
Marshfield, Mosinee, Granton, Junction City, Chili, Fairchild, Plymouth,
Humbird, Waukesha, Stratford, Onalaska, Eau Claire, Pittsville, Loyal,
Franksville, Menomonee Falls and Louisville, Ky.
