Stannard, Grace A. (29 JUL 1880 - 25 AUG 1896)

Grace A. Stannard died Tuesday, Aug. 25, 1896, at 10 o'clock a.m. of sugar diabetes, at her home in this city (Neillsville, Clark County), at the age of 15 years, 11 months and 4 days.

Grace was born on the North Side in Neillsville, Clark County in 1880, and up to within ten months or more ago was apparently a strong, healthy girl, and very fleshy, weighing as much as 140 pounds at times. Last October she became ill and her parents did all they could to secure a recovery of her former health, but without success, and Tuesday morning the white winged angel of death bore her spirit to the realms of her creator. Grace was a genial dispositioned girl, well like by her schoolmates and friends.

The funeral services will be conducted at the residence of J. D. Stannard at 2 p.m. today, by Rev. Ellis of Elroy, and the remains laid to rest in the city cemetery.
