Barton, Henry (31 MAR 1875 -16 FEB 1897)
Henry Barton died at the home of A.H.
Holverson, his father-in-law, yesterday morning at 4 o'clock, of
pneumonia. Had he lived until March 31st he would have been 22
years of age.
He was the son of Antone Barton, a blacksmith and wagon maker of
this city (Neillsville, Clark County), and but a year ago started
in the harness and farm machine business, at which he was making a
very good success. Last Thursday, not feeling well, he went home,
being sick but five days when death took him away.
About two years and a half ago, Mr. Barton married Miss Carrie
Holverson, who is now left a widow with a young babe about ten
months old. It seems too bad that one so young, who had but fairly
started out on life's journey with a bright and prosperous future
before him, should thus rudely be separated from his family and
circle of friends. There seems to us to be something entirely wrong
with the great natural laws that permits such things.
The funeral services will be held in the Catholic Church, Friday
morning at 10 o'clock, by Rev. Father Volz, and the remains will be
laid at rest in the Catholic Cemetery.
