Savage, Nathaniel (1885 - 25 MAR 1897)

Thursday last, while Nathaniel, the 11 year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Savage, of Shortville, Clark County, was out in the woods helping an older brother to cut down a tree, he was struck by the falling tree and instantly killed. The boys had sawed the tree through and were felling it when the butt end struck the little fellow, who was running away, in the back, with the above result.

The funeral services were conducted by Rev. G. N. Foster at the Shortville Church Saturday morning.
