Stelter, Elizabeth H. (10 JUL 1924 - 11 JAN 2013)
Elizabeth Stelter, age 88, of Neillsville, WI died Friday, January 11, 2013 at
the Clark County Health Care Facility in Owen, WI.
Elizabeth Helen Stelter was born on July 10, 1924 in Stevens Point, WI the
daughter of William and Mary (Pohlman) Embke. She attended school in Neillsville
and then worked as a waitress at the Arbutus Café in downtown Neillsville. On
December 11, 1943 she was united in marriage to Frederick Stelter. She then
stayed at home and worked as a housewife, raising their seven children.
Elizabeth was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Neillsville
and their ladies aid. She was also a member of TOPS and in 2001 she was
recognized for her ten years of service to the City of Neillsville for serving
on the election board. She enjoyed cooking and baking and she loved watching
birds, especially humming birds. Most of all, though, Elizabeth enjoyed being
with her family and doing things as a family.
She is survived by six children, Diane (Stanley) Blaskowski of Stratford, WI,
Sandra (Richard) Kren of Watertown, WI, Frederick Stelter of Neillsville, WI,
Linda (Daniel) Krehmeyer of Neillsville, WI, Yvonne (David) Herron of
Marshfield, WI and Barbara (Mark) Cattanach of Neillsville, WI, 25
grandchildren, 53 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick, a daughter, Gail Walker,
her parents and a brother, Harold Embke.
Funeral Services for Elizabeth will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 15,
2013 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Neillsville. Pastor Timothy
Biebert will officiate. Music will be provided by Judy Trunkel, organist.
Interment will be in the Neillsville City Cemetery. Visitation will be from
10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Tuesday at the Church.
