Jack was born in the town of Clark in Clark County on March 22, 1925 to the late
John and Ethel (Whitbeck) Warns. His education included a small country school
later graduating from Withee High School and attended college for one year in
Minneapolis. He entered the United States Army in April of 1943. Following his
honorable discharge, he returned to the area. Early on Jack worked as a diesel
mechanic at Western Condensory now known as Foremost Foods. On November 25, 1950
Jack married Alma "Dolly" Krarup in Owen. Sadly she passed away March 10, 1996.
On September 29, 2001 he married Jean Schultz at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in
Owen. She survives. Jack retired from Foremost Foods as the plant manager in
1984 and lived in the Neillsville area until 2001. After his marriage to Jean he
resided with her in Abbotsford until the time of his passing.
His hobbies included fishing, hunting with the bow and rifle, making wood
furniture and working in his gardens. With his patient and gifted hands, Jack
loved building model airplanes, making bamboo fly rods, restoring an old
airstream travel trailer, making rosaries and giving them away to those who
needed one. Jack was sort of a "rock hound" and a real computer whiz who loved
technology and realized the potential of that technology.
He was a former member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Owen, a current member of
St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Abbotsford and a lifetime member of the
Wisconsin Bowhunters.
Survivors include his wife Jean Schultz of Abbotsford; his children: John (Mary)
