Meyer, Viola (4 October 1909 - 27 November 1967)
Mrs. Gilbert Meyer, 58, of Greenwood, died Monday at the Kaukauna Community
Hospital, where she had been admitted a few hours prior to her death.
She had been a patient at the Neillsville, Eau Claire and Madison hospitals and
was convalescing the past 10 days at the home of her son-in-law and daughter,
Mr. and Mrs. Lester Abel of Kaukauna.
Funeral services were held Wednesday from the Zion United Church in Greenwood.
The Rev. David Logue officiated. Burial was made in the Greenwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Meyer, the former Viola Brandt, daughter of August and Ida Brandt, was born
October 4, 1909. She received her education in the Withee schools. She was
married to Gilbert Meyer August 30, 1930, in Withee. She had resided in
Greenwood since her marriage. She was a member of the Zion United Church of
Christ, and the Women’s Guild.
Survivors are her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Lester (Joyce) Abel of Kaukauna; two
grandchildren, Mark and Kay Abel; two brothers, Joseph and Fred Brandt of
Withee; two sisters, Mrs. Emil (Ida) Niemi and Mrs. Martha Meyer, both of Lake
Worth, Fla.
