Fredrickson, Joanne (27 Aug 1938-27 Dec 2012)

Joanne Fredrickson, 74, Neillsville, died on Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012, at Ministry Saint Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield. A celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, at the Gesche Funeral Home, Neillsville. Rev. Joe Weiers will officiate. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m., on Saturday, Jan. 26, at the Gesche Funeral Home. Following services a luncheon will be held at Apple Valley Restuarant.

Joanne M. Frusher was born on Aug. 22, 1938, in Brooklyn, Wis., to Phillip T. DeRemer and Mary E. Frusher. Her school years were spent in Bellivelle and Monroe, and she graduated from Monroe High School in 1955 at the age of 16. After graduation, she was employed at the Joseph Viney Law Office as a legal secretary. She moved to Milwaukee with her family in 1957 and was employed at A.O. Smith Co. as a secretary. In 1958, she married William L. Chambers and they moved to Granton. To this union three daughters were born, Debra, Dawn and Diane. The marriage ended in 1971. In 1973, Joanne married a widower, Eugene K. Fredrickson, with four daughters, Becky, Darci, Kristy and Karla. Being a stepmother and stepfather did not occur to Eugene and Joanne. They had seven daughters.

Joanne loved bowling and golf. She was pretty good at one sport and not so good at the other. She was employed in many positions while raising her family, at Loyal Foods, Land O’Lakes, Farmers & Merchants Bank, the TRG, and for 16 years with Meridan Group Inc. While living in Loyal for 30 years, Joanne was active in the community serving on the “Welcome Wagon,” singing in St. Anthony’s Choir and taking her turn as president of the bowling association. She was active in the Loyal Women’s study group, planning Halloween parties at the school and helping with many Corn Festival parades. Upon retiring in 2000, Joanne volunteered at thehigh ground for five years. She also spent many hours crocheting lap robes for veterans.

Joanne is survived by her daughters, Debra (Dave) Goldbach, Eau Claire, Diane (Mark) Selz, Riverbank, Calif., Becky (Jerome) Rossman, Marshfield, Darci Mahoney, Neillsville, Kristy (Jeff) Sischo, Neillsville and Karla (Mark) Pfuhl, Marshfield; 12 grandchildren, Jessica, Jennifer, Jordyn, Daniel (Katie), Justine, Danielle (Michael) Dillon, J. C., Dustin (Kayla), Tyler and Teegan; eight great-grandchildren, Janaya, Graci, Emma, Desirae,Roman, Corbin, Autumn and Eli; three sisters, Rosemary Maske, Paulette (Larry) Miller and Phyllis Pritchard; one brother, Phillip (Vanessa) Deremer; and two sisters-in-law, Sandy (Dennis) Vestweber and Shari Dakin.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Dawn E. Soma, in 2001; her husband Eugene K. Fredrickson, in 2003; and a brother-in-law, Ordean F. Fredrickson. In 2008.
