Griepentrog, Herbert F. (3 JUL 1900 - 10 OCT 1963)
Herbert Frank Griepentrog, 63, of Abbotsford, died Thursday, Oct. 10, 1963. He
was in ill health more than a year and was hospitalized at Marshfield for 11
weeks. His death occurred at Sunnyvale Infirmary at Wausau where he was a
patient during the past few weeks.
Funeral services were held Saturday morning at 11 o'clock at St. Katherine's
Episcopal Church, Owen, with the Rev. Richard Hewetson officiating. Burial was
made in Riverside Cemetery.
Herbert Frank Griepentrog was born July 3, 1900 in rural Unity. His marriage to
Leona bast, who preceded him in death, took place in 1919. On Nov. 1, 195, he
and Helen Stock, operator of Helen's Bar, Abbotsford, were united in marriage.
Mr. Griepentrog owned and operated West Marshfield Cheese Factory for 30 years
and then moved to Owen, where he operated a cheese factory for 15 years. He
lived at Abbotsford at various times.
Surviving him are his wife, Abbotsford; two daughters, Mrs. Victor (Greta)
Meyers and Mrs. David (Judith) Seidl, Marshfield; five sons, Herbert Jr.,
Wausau, Neale, Mount Prospect, Ill., Ray, chippewa Falls, Ted, Marshfield and
Earle, Las Vegas, Nev.; three brothers, Alfred, Spencer, Reinhart and Oscar,
Marshfield; 21 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
