Lyle W. Doehr, 91, Marshfield, was peacefully taken to his eternal home in heaven with Jesus, Jan. 11, 2013. He had resided at the Marshfield Care Center the past eight months.

He was born May 22, 1921, in Fairchild, the son of the late Werner and Mabel (Bequette) Doehr. He lived in Marshfield and Kingsford, MI, the first five years of his life. Then, he moved to Milwaukee, where he was active playing his violin in the Juneau High School Orchestra, the All-City Orchestra and the All-City String Orchestra. In 1938, he moved to the Marshfield area with his family and graduated from Marshfield High School. He married Hazel Beil Dec. 19, 1941, at the Zion Lutheran Parsonage, Granton. Following their marriage, they farmed in the Chili area until 1981. He also worked several other jobs, including driving school bus for 22 years. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Chili.

Lyle always found time for his fun activities. Fishing was his favorite pastime. He also loved to go deer hunting and snowmobiling. Lyle and Hazel had fun on many camping excursions and numerous trips, including going out west and to Hawaii, Alaska and Taiwan. Lyle loved to play cards and won most of the time. He had a great sense of humor to the end.
