Pajak, Genevieve Mary (23 July 1917 - 30 December 2012)

Genevieve M. Pajak, age 95, of Thorp, passed away at Oakbrook Health & Rehab on Sunday, December 30, 2012. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 5, 2013, at St. Bernard-St. Hedwig Catholic Church in Thorp. Rev. Don Meuret officiated and burial followed in Old St. Hedwig’s Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Gary Pajak, Robert Badzinski, David Badzinski, Chris Seth, Ryan Pajak, Paul Walker, Jeremy Wall and Walter Tetzner. Visitation was held at Thorp Funeral Home on Friday, January 4, 2013, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a 7:30 rosary service, and at the church, on Saturday, from 9:30 a.m. until time of service.

Genevieve Mary Deniszkiewicz was born on July 23, 1917, in the Town of Reseburg, rural Thorp, the only child of Charles and Helen (Travinski) Deniszkiewicz. She received her education at Thorp area schools and graduated from Thorp High School in 1936. After completing her education, Genevieve attended the LeClair School of Beauty Culture, in Milwaukee. She was united in marriage to Walter Pajak at St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church, in Thorp, on June 18, 1939. They moved to Chicago, where she worked as a beautician and as a housekeeper. They moved back to the Town of Reseburg, where they farmed until their retirement in 1980. They then moved into the City of Thorp, where she resided until entering Oakbrook Health & Rehab in September 2010.

Genevieve had many interests, but especially loved her family, volunteering, singing in the Polish Choir, teaching CCD for many years, and was active with the Thorp Area Pro Life Group. She was a member of St. Bernard-St. Hedwig Catholic Church and its PCDCW, and the Clark County Homemakers.

She will be missed by her 10 children: Joseph (Barbara) Pajak of Mesa, AZ, Justine (John) Badzinski of Coon Rapids, MN, John (TerryAnn) Pajak of Harvey, LA, Jean (Gary) Seth of flower Mound, TX, Joanne (Michael) Minahan of Livermore, CA, James (Lori) Pajak of Thorp, Janet (Robert) Wall of Withee, Joyce (Andrew) Marquardt of Stevensville, MI, Jacqueline (Kevin) Tetzner of Washburn, Julianne (John) Cleveland of Tigard, OR; 20 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Genevieve was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walter, on November 29, 1995; and two children: Jerome Pajak and Judith Pajak.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Thorp Catholic School, 411 East School Street, Thorp, WI 54771.
