Stevens, Beverley Lou (28 March 1943 - 7 January 2013)
Beverley L. Stevens, age 69, passed away at Oakbrook Health & Rehab, in Thorp,
on Monday, January 7, 2013. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Friday
January 11, 2013, at Thorp Funeral Home, with Rev. John Hazen officiating.
Burial followed in East Thorp Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jeremy Wall, John Wall,
Bernie Stuttgen, Rich Boie, Mark Koltis and Roger Klanderman. Visitation was
held at Thorp Funeral Home on Friday, January 11, 2013, from 9 a.m. until time
of service.
Beverley Lou Wall was born on March 28, 1943, in Cicero, IL, the daughter of
Woodrow T. and Winifred F. (Schaefer) Wall. She was raised and received her
education in the Owen/Withee area, graduating from Owen-Withee High School in
1961. Beverley then attended UW-Eau Claire for one year and UW-Stevens Point for
one year. She was united in marriage to Ken Stevens on August 17, 1963, at the
Congregational Church in Owen. They moved to Winter, WI, where her husband
taught school and she worked as a waitress, was active in the Winter PTA and was
a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts. In 1965, they move to Thorp and Beverley worked
at Thorp Finance, later I.T.T., was a playground supervisor for the Thorp Public
Schools, and worked at Bodamer Jewelry. Throughout her life, she was a very
active member of the community, who was friendly, outgoing, loved people and
volunteering. Beverley spent many years as a spokesperson and fundraiser for
Multiple Sclerosis.
She was a member of the Thorp United Methodist Church and the Thorp Lioness
Club. She had many interests, but especially loved fishing, traveling and a good
party.
She is survived by her husband, ken, of Thorp; one sister, Penny Hoeser of
Winona; two brothers: Woodrow A. (Mary) Wall of Eau Claire and Robert J. Janet
Wall of Withee; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Beverley was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Diana Wall.
