Aumann, Msgr. Edward (28 February 1880 - 3 December 1967)
Funeral services were held Wednesday, at 10a.m. from St. Lawrence Catholic
Church in Milwaukee for Msgr. Edward Aumann, 87, who died Sunday in Milwaukee.
The body was brought to Neillsville to the Georgas Funeral Home, where a rosary
service was said at 8 p.m. that evening. The body is being taken today
(Thursday) at 9:30 a.m. to St. Mary’s Catholic Church where it will lie in state
until the time of a service at 10 a.m. The Rev. George M. Nelson will officiate.
Burial will be made in the parish cemetery.
Msgr. Aumann was born February 28, 1880, in Jefferson County, the son of the
late John and Caroline (Kenneter) Aumann. He attended schools there and St.
Francis Seminary in Milwaukee.
In June, 1904, he was ordained into the priesthood. He served the parish of St.
Lawrence in Milwaukee from 1944-1961, when he retired after 63 years of service.
He is survived by four sisters, Mrs. Jake Haas, Mrs. Kate Hrach and Mrs. Mary
Gaden, all of Neillsville, and Mrs. Tillie Knilams of Delavan; and by two
brothers, Gottlieb of Milwaukee and Henry Aumann of Loyal.
