Erwin, Frances Lenore (27 July 1893 - 6 December 1967)
Mrs. Wilbur E. Erwin, 74, of Greenwood died December 6, in Neillsville where she
had been a hospital patient since November 23, after a lingering illness.
Mrs. Erwin, the former Frances Lenore Hoffman, daughter of Conrad and Josephine
(Sommers) Hoffman, was born July 27, 1893, in Madison. She received her
education in Madison schools. She was married to Wilbur Erwin January 29, 1913,
in Madison. After her marriage they lived in Madison until 1915, when they came
to Clark County and settled on a farm near Loyal. Thy retired from farming in
1962 and moved to the city of Greenwood in September of this year.
Mrs. Erwin was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church of Loyal and its altar
society.
Surviving are her husband; a son, Victor Erwin of Hales Corners; a daughter,
Mrs. Margery Colby of Greenwood; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and
a sister, Mrs. Fred (Elsie) Walterscheidt of Madison.
Funeral services were held Saturday from St. Mary’s Catholic Church in
Greenwood. Burial was made in St. Mary’s Cemetery. The Rev. Philip Leinfelder
officiated.
