Christmas Day guests of Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Wavrunek were Mrs. Georgia Collins and Ray of Thorp, Jim Wavrunek of New Holstein, who is spending this week at home, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Wavrunek and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Haut of Neillsville, and Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Wavrunek and family of Colby.

Airman John Gassen left Wednesday for mountain Home, Id., where he will be stationed as a radiologist in the air force hospital. John has been spending a Christmas leave with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Matt Gassen., Jr.

Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Gustman spent the holiday weekend and Christmas in Menomonie with her brother and wife, Mr. and Mrs. George Bleskachek and family.

Mr. and Mrs. Dan Martell of Santa Monica, Cal., arrived Friday for a week’s visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Brewer. Mrs. H. J. Martell of Green Bay arrived Saturday and is spending this week at the Brewer home and visiting her son and his wife.

Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Nielsen of Denver, Colo., are spending the holidays at the George Nielsen and Dan Rayburn homes.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Burtness and to children of Harvard, Ill., arrived Monday for a three-day visit with his parents, the Rev. and Mrs. E. G. Burtness.

Holly Van Gorden is spending the Christmas vacation in Jupiter, Fla., with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Archie Van Gorden.

The regular meeting of Carmi Chapter, no. 60, Order of Eastern Star, will be held January 2 at 8 p.m.

Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Heagle and family enroute to their home from Milwaukee, visited at the Heron Van Gorden home Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Heagle and two children, enroute from Stanley to their home in
Buffalo, Minn., were Christmas Day supper guests at the Van Gorden home. Miss Susan Heagle of Eau Claire was guest Sunday and Monday of her aunt, Mrs. Van Gorden.

PO 3/c John Franke, who has been stationed at long beach, Cal, is scheduled to arrive today (Thursday) in Minneapolis, Minn., for an overnight visit with Laverne Johnson. On Friday, John, his sister, Jean, of St. Paul, and Mr. Johnson plan to arrive in Neillsville to spend the New Year weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Kurt Franke. John will remain until the middle of January.

Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Olson and family returned home Monday from Crandon, where they spent the weekend with Mrs. Olson’s father, A. J. Hed, at the home of her sister, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Becker.

Christmas Day guests of Mr. and Mrs. Garald Hart were Mr. and Mrs. Elton Imig, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Bedell and family and the Kenneth Burr family.

Mr. and Mrs. Jack Hughes of Milwaukee, who were here last week Wednesday to attend the funeral of Elmer Handke of Lynn, were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Garald Hart and also visited Nick Gangler, who was a medical patient in Memorial Hospital.

Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Klauer and son, Darrell, of Milwaukee were Christmas Day guests at the Paul Klauer home.

Mr. and Mrs. William Schwellenbach spent Christmas Day in Durand with their son, Clyde, and his family.

Mr. and Mrs. Tom Overman and family of Tucson, Ariz., arrived Friday for a week’s visit with his mother, Mrs. Evelyn Overman, and his sister, Mrs. Donald W. Johnson and family. Jerry Overman of Minneapolis, Minn., spent the holidays with his family.
