Hazeltine, Catherine

Funeral services were held Friday afternoon, June 21, at 2 p.m. at the Myre
Funeral Home for Mrs. Catherine Hazeltine, 80, who died of a heart attack at 6
p.m. Tuesday, June 18 at the Leahy Nursing Home in Abbotsford.
She had been a patient there since February.
Rev. Paul Doering, pastor of the Loyal Methodist Church and Rev. R. James Hagen,
pastor of the Spencer Methodist Church, officiated.
Pallbearers were John Habhegger, Robert Smith, Ray Prior, Oscar Neeb, Frank
Oestreich and Henry Lemke. Mrs.
G.W. Nelson sang “What a Friend We Have in Jesus” and “Beyond the Sunset”.
Mrs. Byron Zepplin was organist.
The former Catherine Hall was born January 24, 1883 at Spencer and received her
education in the town of Sherman rural school.
She also attended the Spencer High School.
Her marriage to Albert J. Hazeltine took place in September of 1911 in Columbus.
Following the marriage the couple settled on a farm near Loyal where they
lived all their lives except for a few years which were spent in Milwaukee.
Mr. Hazeltine died in November 1950.
For the past few years Mrs. Hazeltine has lived with her sister, Mrs.
Glen Doering in Loyal.
Survivors include a son Albert Mark of Milwaukee; five grandchildren; two
sisters, Mrs. Agnes Marquardt, Tomah and Isabel Hall, Loyal.
In addition to her husband, an infant daughter, Mary, two brothers and
three sisters preceded her in death.
