Stowe, Clara (16 Jan 1891-30 July 1961)

Rev. Ralph Koelemay of Spencer officiated at the funeral services Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock for Mrs. Rufus (Clara) Stowe, 70, of Route 1, Unity, who died at St. Joseph’s Hospital at Marshfield where she had been a patient for the past two weeks. Services were held at the Loyal Methodist Church and burial was made in the town of Beaver cemetery. Arrangements were made by the Myre Funeral Home.

The former Clara Johnson was born in Rhinelander on January 16, 1891 & came to Green Grove at the age of 7 with her parents. She was educated in the Green Grove school and was married at Colby August 27, 1913 to Rufus Stowe. After her marriage they lived on a farm in the town of Beaver and have lived there since.

She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Josephine Raatz, Unity, and Mrs. Clarence (Florence) Braun, Rockford, Illinois; one son, Glen of Unity; seven grandchildren; 1 great grandchild, a brother, Oscar Johnson of Colby; and a sister, Mrs. Adel Gottschalk of Colby. A daughter, Irene and one brother preceded her in death.
