Funeral services were held Tuesday morning August 22, for Frank Adam Wendel, 63,
of Loyal who died at his home on Saturday at 10 a.m. Rev. Norbert E. King
officiated and burial was made in the parish cemetery. Mr. Wendel suffered a
stroke eight years ago, and has been in ill health since that time. The body had
lain in state at the Myre Funeral Home and a general rosary service was held
there Monday evening.
Pallbearers were Raymond Hubing, Joe Hubing, William Beaver, Bert Brown,
Benidict Braun and Paul Bauer.
Those from out of town attending were Harold Gravitter and Jane, Mr. and Mrs.
Rudolph Gravitter, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Graviteer, Paul Gravitter, Mr. and Mrs.
Walter Bartz, all of Marshfield, and Mr. and Mrs. August Schultz of Chili.
Frank Wendel was born on January 2, 1898 in Loyal and received his education in
the Mack School and St. Anthony’s Catholic School. He lived on the home farm in
Pelsdorf until thirteen years ago when he moved to the city of Loyal. Here he
made his home with his brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Wendel. He
was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church.
Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. John (Susie) Steger, Los Angeles, California
and Mrs. Rudolph (Frances) Gravitter, Marshfield. One brother and two sisters
preceded him in death.
