Speich, Ruth Adele (Marriage - 3 February 1968)

Miss Ruth Adele Speich, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Speich of Rt. 1 Ladysmith, became the bride of Gerald Lynn Holt, son of Mr. and Mrs. Merton Holt of Neillsville, in a double ring ceremony Saturday, witnessed by 100 guests, in the First Methodist Church in Ladysmith. The Rev. Paul Doering was the officiating minister. Yellow gladioli and white chrysanthemums graced the altar of the church.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, chose for her wedding an ivory crepe sheath-style dress enhanced with an over-cage. A shoulder-length illusion veil cascaded from her headpiece. She carried a cascade bouquet of white roses, entwined with lemon leaves.

Mrs. Susan Bremer of White Bear Lake, Minn., as matron-of-honor, was seen in a blue peau de soie street-length dress. She wore a matching pillbox headpiece. Her bridesmaid, Debra Speich of Ladysmith, was attired in a yellow taffeta sheath-styled dress with an over-cage. She also wore a pillbox headpiece. Each carried a bouquet of yellow glemellias with lemon leaves.

Howard Bremer of White Bear Lake, Minn., was bestman. Groomsman was Billy Roth of Ladysmith. John Painter of Spring Valley and Jim Speich of Platteville ushered.

The bride, a 1966 graduate of Wisconsin State University - River Falls, has been employed in St. Paul, Minn. Mr. Holt, a 1965 graduate of the State University at River Falls is with the air force, stationed near Phoenix, Ariz. He is affiliated with Sigma Rho fraternity.
