Ploeckelman, Donna G. (30 NOV 1963)
Miss Donna Glee Ploeckelman, daughter of Mr. and the late Mrs. Ben Ploeckelman
of Colby, became the bride of Elmer J. Kaldunski Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer
J. Kaldunski Sr. of Athens, Monday morning, Nov. 30, 1963, at St. Anthony's
Catholic Church, Athens.
The bride was presented in marriage by her father at a 10:45 a.m. ceremony at
which the Rev. Myron Meinen officiated.
A floor length gown of peau taffeta over tulle was worn by the bride. The molded
bodice was styled with a Sabrina neckline outlined with floral Alencon lace
appliques, which was embroidered with iridescent sequins and seed pearls, and
carved to a "V" at the center of the front waist. The long, peau sleeves tapered
to points over the wrist where they were secured. The beautifully detailed skirt
was shirred at the waist. Two lace appliques trimmed the front, having pearl and
sequin embroidery. The skirt had a pickup in front and back accented by two bows
and scalloped lace edging. The entire hem also had lace edging. The entire hem
also had lace edging. The bridal veil of imported English silk illusion in
fingertip length was secured to a pearl band crown with double pearl scalloped
loops connecting pearl and crystal perals tipped with rhinestones.
Mrs. Marvin Hargraves was matron of honor and Cathy Burke was the bridesmaid.
Mrs. Hargraves and Miss Burke wore identically styled ballerina length dresses
of brocade in Kelly green. The fitted bodices were styled with sweetheart
necklines and three-quarter length sleeves. The skirt was full with un-pressed
pleats at the waist. A flat panel was down the front, having a large blat bow
also trimmed the back drop waist. Both were braid crowns with a double wedding
cake effect outline with pearls tipped with crystals. A halo veil of illusion
was attached. The veils were dyed to match the girls' dresses in Kelly green.
Marvin Hargraves was best man and Ivo Wozniak was groomsman.
After the wedding, 150 guests attended a reception and dance at Prochnow's
Ballroom in Athens.
The couple plan to make their home in Athens. Mr. Kaldunski is employed by the
Marathon Cheese Co. at Marathon.
