Greenwood (15 February 1968)

Wilbur Stewart, Robert Stewart and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Stewart went to Plainfield Sunday, where they attended the celebration of the 55th wedding anniversary of their brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. George Osterhaus.

Mrs. Wilber Stewart attended the golden anniversary celebration of her brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Looker, Sunday in Owen.

Mr. and Mrs. John Kaltinger and his mother, Mrs. John Kaltinger, Sr., have returned after spending the week end in Chicago with relatives. Saturday they attended the wedding of their grandson and nephew, Wayne Langnor to Patricia Guillo, in Chicago.

The Salem Aid will meet Tuesday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Hubert Horn.

The Come and Know Homemakers meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. Arthur Turnquist Tuesday afternoon. The lesson will be presented by Mrs. Arvid Myhrwold.

Gene Djubenski accompanied Bill Snedic to Milwaukee last weekend.

Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Kitzhaber and family of Mosinee spent the weekend at the Mike Klapatauskas home.

Jerry Lamovec accompanied Chet Turnquist and Ron Kocher of Greenwood on a tour of the western states.

The council of Catholic Women of the parish sponsored a white elephant sale in the church hall Sunday afternoon. Items of clothing, pictures, knick-knacks, dishes, and fancy work were on display.

A Knights of Columbus Valentine Party was held Sunday at Loyal for all the members and their wives.

Sunday dinner guests at the Mike Podobnik home were Mr. and Mrs. Julius Klapatauskas and family of Thorp, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Debevec and family of Willard, Miss Pat Debevec, and Sam Dunn of Eau Claire and Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Arch.

The memorial plaque for the New Holy Family Catholic Church arrived and was placed in the entrance.

John Govek of River Falls spent the weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Govek.

Home for the weekend from the state university at Eau Claire with their parents were Edward Perko, Jr., Pat Debevec, Pat Plautz, Francis Koschak and Henry Lamovec, Jr.

Mrs. Thomas Bombach and daughter of Marshfield, and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Abel of Greenwood visited their mother, Mrs. Anna Horvat.

Louis Lesar of Ely, Minn., spent last week with relatives here.

Joseph and Steve Plautz and Martin Kirn left Thursday by auto for Orlando, Fla.

Mr. and Mrs. Jack Scharenbrock of Chicago, Ill., and Mr. and Mrs. Jim Scharenbrock of Connecticut, were here last week to visit their mother, Mrs. John Scharenbrock, who is a patient at the hospital in Marshfield. They also visited their dad, John Scharenbrock.

Mr. and Mrs. Roger Lange and daughter of Green Bay were recent guests of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Plautz.
