Strathman, Eveline (26 JUL 1874 - 19 DEC 1963)
Funeral services for Mrs. Eveline Strathman, 89, of Colby, were held Sunday
afternoon, Dec. 22, at 1:30 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church at Colby.
Mrs. Strathman died Thursday at the home of her son, Robert Strathman of Colby.
The Rev. Leroy Urman officiated at the services. Interment was made in the Colby
Memorial Cemetery.
The former Eveline Fleischauer was born in Germany July 26, 1874. When about 12
years old, she came to America with her family. They lived at McKeesport, Pa., a
few years, and then came to this area.
In 1897 she married William Strathman of Colby. They lived on a farm north of
Colby until the early 1920's, when they moved to Colby. She had made her home in
Colby ever since.
Her husband died in 1937.
Mrs. Strathman was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church at Colby and the
congregation's Ladies'' Aid and Sewing Circle.
She is survived by two sons, Herman Strathman of Waterloo, Wis., and Robert
Strathman of Colby. There are three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are a brother, Emil Fleischauer of Colby and a sister, Johanna
Fleischauer of Colby.
One brother and three sister, besides her husband preceded her in death.
