Machtell, Sandra A. (21 DEC 1963)
The marriage of Miss Sandra Ann Mechtell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred G.
Giese Jr. of Princeton, and Gerald Arthur Brehm, son of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin
Brehm of Colby, took place Saturday, Dec. 21, 1963, at Princeton.
A lighted Christmas tree, candle lights and poinsettia plants on the altar
formed the scene of the 7 p.m. nuptials, performed at the Emmanuel Evangelical
United Brethren Church before the Rev. Earl Huester.
The bride chose a three-piece white winter wool suit and a white feather hat.
She was attended by Miss Connie Crimmings of Milwaukee, who wore a two-piece
powder blue wool suit and matching hat. Each carried a bouquet of poinsettias.
The groom's attendant was James Allsage of Watertown. Performing the ushering
duties were Robert Giese of Princeton, a cousin of the bride, and James Brehm, a
brother of the groom.
A three-piece black and gold suit and a speckle throated cymbidium corsage was
worn by the bride's mother. The groom's mother chose a black wool dress accented
by a corsage comprised of a pink throated cymbidium.
A reception for the family and close friends was held at the church parlors.
The new Mr. and Mrs. Brehm are residing at Green Lake Terrace. He is a graduate
of the Colby High School and River Falls Teachers College, and is teaching
agriculture and science at Princeton High School. She is a graduate of the
Princeton High School and the Milwaukee Business College.
Out of town guests attending the wedding included Mr. and Mrs. E.A. Brehm,
Elizabeth and Janet Brehm, and Mrs. Edwin Graumann of Colby; Mr. and Mrs. Morris
Mantor of Abbotsford; Mrs. Jerome Hecker of Marshfield, and friends and
relatives from Watertown, Green Lake, Berlin, Ripon, and Princeton.
