Alice Marie Scharenbrock was born on Sept. 24, 1914, in Greenwood, to john and Julie Scharenbrock, the seventh child of eight children and also an identical twin. After moving to Chicago, she married Herbert Kurth on June 18, 1938. They lived in Chicago and Salk City, and then made their home at Neillsville. Together they enjoyed their cottage, traveling, and their many nieces and nephews. She worked for 26 years at Auto Test in Neillsville until she retired. She enjoyed gardening, fishing and baking, which she shared with her family. She loved playing cards, dancing and listening to polka music. Alice was a long time member of St/ Mary’s Catholic Church and received an award for being one of the oldest members of the parish in 2011. She was an aunt and a great-great aunt survived by many nieces and nephews, and her special buddy, Corbin.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Julia Scharenbrock; her brothers, John and Andrew; her sisters, Anne, Marie, Marcella (her twin) and Julia; and her loving husband of 65 years, Herbert.

Her devotion and kindness for others are traits we will always remember. “As we say goodbye, as tears roll from our eyes, we know you have a place in heaven.
