Loss, Mary (14 APR 1852 – 21 JAN 1947)


Mrs. Mary Loss, 94, who lived with her son, Anton, for 19 years at his home in the Town of Brighton, 8 1/2 miles north of here, was found dead in bed at 7 o’clock Tuesday morning. Old age complications caused her death.

Mrs. Loss was born in Germany on April 14, 1852, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Kolskie. She was married to Anton Loss in Germany 69 years ago. Mr. Loss died in 1926.

A rosary service was held at the Swarthout Funeral Home Thursday evening at 8 o’clock and funeral services were conducted Friday morning at 9:30 o’clock at the Christ the King Catholic Church, the Rev. Bernard Henry officiating at the Requiem High Mass. Interment was made in the Spencer Catholic cemetery.

Surviving are five sons and three daughters, Alexander, Milwaukee; Joseph, Stratford; Mike, State of Washington; Anton, Spencer; Lee, Stratford; Mrs. John (Agnes) Wilson, Minneapolis; Mollie, Salem; and Mrs. Paul (Mario) Benner, Minneapolis. There are 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
