Paulus, Irene Margaret (21 July 1891 - 12 March 1968)
Mrs. Irene Margaret Paulus, 70, of Denver, Colo., died March 12. Funeral
services were held Monday from the Georgas Funeral Home in Neillsville. The Rev.
W. C. Koehler of the United Church of Christ officiated. Burial was made in the
Neillsville City Cemetery. Mrs. Paulus, the former Irene Baker, was born July
21, 1891, in Noble, Ill., the daughter of the late John and Anna Baker.
Following the death of her first husband, Herman Wolfert, she was married to
Blucher Paulus.
Mrs. Paulus is survived by a daughter, Mrs. William (Margaret) Walker of
Madison; by four sisters, Mrs. Arthur (Elma) Kneesel of Denver, Colo., Mrs. Ed
(Beulah) Bradish of Ft. Dodge, Ia., Mrs. Charles (Blanch) Sullivan of Chicago,
Ill., and Mrs. Fred (Ethel) Gardner of Mattoon, Ill.; and by a brother, Loy
Baker of Chicago, Ill. Other survivors include three grandchildren and eight
great-grandchildren.
“Softly and Tenderly” and “Abide with Me” were sung by Ellis Wall, accompanied
by Mrs. Jess W. Scott.
Pallbearers were: P. C. Ludovic, Walter Zank, Ellis Wall, William Walker,
Charles Sullivan and Arthur Kneesel.
Out of town people here for the service included: Mr. and Mrs. William Walker
and Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Geary of Madison; Arthur Kneesel of Denver, Colo.; Mr.
and Mrs. Charles Sullivan and Loy Baker of Chicago, Ill.; and Mr. and Mrs.
Walter Zank of Fairchild.
