Strommen, Clara (29 December 1880 - 31 March 1968)
Mrs. Martin Strommen, 87, of Spooner, former Greenwood resident, died March31,
at the Shell Lake Hospital after a lingering illness. Mrs. Strommen, nee Clara
Thompson, was born December 29, 1880, in Blanchardville. In February, 1904, she
was married to Martin Strommen.
Surviving are her husband; three daughters, Mrs. Conrad (Mabel) Leafblad of Iron
River, Mrs. E. H. (Alice) McKnight of Madison, and Mrs. Oliver (Hazel) Holmes of
Middleton; three sons, Arthur of Spooner, Gilman of Search Lake, Nev., and
Howard of Green Bay; 21 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs.
Olena Brugger of Oakland, Calif.; and a brother, Henry Thompson of Thorp.
Funeral services were held April 3, from the Trinity Lutheran Church in Spooner.
