40th Wedding Anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Neumann celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary at their home
in the Town of Brighton Friday evening, April 25.
About 70 relatives and friends attended. Mrs. Fred Meyer of Menasha one of the
attendants at the wedding 40 years ago was here. Mrs. Neumann’s brother of
Sedalia, Missouri, another attendant, was unable to be here.
A purse of money was presented to the couple and Rev. Hinz, who was also present
when they celebrated their 25th anniversary was present and gave a
congratulatory address stating his happiness at being a guest at their 25th and
40th and hoped to be a guest at their 50th anniversary 10 years hence.
Mr. and Mrs. Neumann have seven children living all of whom were present except
Mrs. (Adalia) Tom Christofferson of Sawyer who was not able to attend due to ill
health. The others are Mrs. (Margaret) Geo. Stillman, of South Spencer, Laurence
at home, John of Marshfield, Mrs. (Marion) Ray Klein, Mrs. (Alice) Leonard
Krause, and Henry at home. They also have four grandchildren.
During the evening cards were played and a wedding lunch was served at midnight.
The Record joins their many local friends in extending congratulations and best
wishes for many more years of happy wedded life together.
