Voightlander, Henry (2 FEB 1892 - 20 JAN 1964)
Henry Voigtlander of Abbotsford, 71, died unexpectedly Monday shortly after
noon, after shoveling a path in the snow between his home and his neighbors. The
body will lie in state at the Polnaszek Funeral Home, Abbotsford, until Thursday
noon when it will be taken to the United Church of Christ at Colby where
services will be held at 2 o'clock. The Rev. Carl Serr will officiated and
burial will be made in the Abbotsford Cemetery.
Henry Paul Voigtlander was born Feb. 2, 1892, in the town of Hoard (Clark Co.,
Wis.). He received his education in the Park School. During World War I he was
in active services overseas.
His marriage to Miss Elizabeth Awe took place at Green Grove Aug. 29, 1923. Two
children were born to this union, Henry Paul Jr. and Ellen.
Mr. Voigtlander farmed in the town of Colby from 1913 to 1957, when he retired
and Mr. and Mrs. Voigtlander moved to Abbotsford.
He is a charter member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Knaack-Thompson Post No.
865 of Abbotsford.
Surviving him are his wife, son, Henry, of Urbana, Ill., and daughter, Mrs.
Clarence (Ellen) Syring of Edgar. There are nine grandchildren.
He also has one brother, Elmer Voigtlander of Medford, and a sister, Lillian, of
Marshfield.
Preceding him in death were his parents and two sister.
