Voightlander, Henry (2 FEB 1892 - 20 JAN 1964)

Funeral services for Henry Voightlander, 71, whose death occurred unexpectedly Jan. 20, 1964, were held Thursday afternoon at the United Church of Christ at Colby at 2 p.m. The Rev. Carl Serr conducted the service and had for his text "Enoch Walked with God." The choir of the Emmanuel United Church of Christ, West Side, of Greenwood, sang "Abide with Me," "Safe in the Arms of Jesus," and "Heimathland" (German).

Military services were conducted at the Abbotsford Cemetery where interment was made. Knaack-Thompson Post No. 865 of the VFW of Abbotsford, of which Mr. Voightlander was a charter members, were in charge and presented the flag to Mrs. Voigtlander and the Colby post provided the firing squad.

The pallbearers were six nephews of the deceased: Calvin, Arnold and Henry Awe of Owen, Paul Kippenhan and George Burmeister of Greenwood, and Herbert Kippenhan of Wausau.

Among those who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Henry Voigtlander and four children of Urbana, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Syring and five children of Edgar, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Voigtlander of Medford, Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Kippenhan, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Kippenhan, Mr. and Mrs. Eldore Humke, Mrs. Laura Humke, Elmer Humke, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Meinhardt, Mrs. Olga Reineking, Mrs. Norbert Kuester, Mrs. Walter Schwarze, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Burmeister and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Draheim, of Greenwood, Herbert Kippenhan of Wausau, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Erler of Wellston, Mich., Mr. and Mrs. Artus Awe and son Henry, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Awe and Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Awe, of Owen, Mrs. Emma Burmeister and Mr. and Mrs. Lester Himes of Withee, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Bower of Merrill, Mr. and Mrs. Nels Frederickson of Stanley, Miss Margaret Glasby of Curtiss, Mrs. Donald Heber and Mrs. Gerry Hebert of Spencer, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Uhlig of Pittsville, and friends from Abbotsford, Colby and the surrounding area.
