Palmerton, Dale J. (5 MAY 1921 - 1 FEB 2013)
Dale J. Palmerton, 91 of Colby, died Friday, February 1, 2013 at his residence
in Colby.
Services will be at 1:00 PM Friday, February 8 at the Maurina-Schilling Funeral
Home in Abbotsford, WI. Burial will be in the Colby Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until time of service Friday at the funeral
home.
Dale was born May 5, 1921 in Clear Lake, Iowa to Roy and Hazel (Hodenfield)
Palmerton.
Dale spent his early years in Hanlontown, Iowa and was a 1939 graduate of
Hanlontown High School. He fell in love and married Marian Snell on October 10,
1943 in Albert Lea, Minnesota. Dale and Marian farmed in Plymouth, Iowa until
1962 when they purchased a farm in rural Colby on Factory Road and continued to
farm, retiring and moving to the City of Colby in 1980.
He is survived by his children; Gary (Karen) Palmerton of Menomonie, Russell
(Judy) Palmerton of Abbotsford, Joyce (Alan) Hoernke of Stratford and Kent
(Barbara) Palmerton of Colby, 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his wife; Marian, parents; Roy and Hazel Palmerton
and a sister; Norma Kugler.
He enjoyed, farming, tractor pulling and watching NASCAR and was an avid
Milwaukee Brewers fan.
Dale served on the Harmony Co-op Board and on the Colby United Methodist Church
Council.
Maurina Schilling Funeral Home of Abbotsford is assisting the family with
arrangements.
