Augustine, Ruth (3 JUL 1917 - 28 JAN 1964)
Funeral services were held Friday, Jan. 31 for Mrs. Ruth Augustine, 46, of
Colby, who died Tuesday at Havenet Nursing Home, Owen, after an illness of about
two months.
The Rev. Jerome Wohlfeil officiated at the services, which were held at St.
Paul's Lutheran Church, town of Green Grove, and hymns were sung by the
congregation. Burial was made at Green Grove Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were
handled by Lulloff Funeral Home, Colby.
Pallbearers were Wesley Frome, Gary Schaffer, Ervin Schultz, Harold Block,
Roland Hake and Raymond Miller Jr.
Mrs. Augustine was born Ruth Nickel, July 3, 1917, at Kenosha. She married
Marvin Augustine on May 20, 1944, at town of Green Grove, where the couple
farmed since their marriage. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
Ruth Augustine is survived by her husband, Marvin; a son, Dennis, 10; her
mother, Mrs. Rudolph Hein, Rib Lake, a brother, Carl Nickel, Glasgow, Mont.;
three sisters, Mrs. Robert (Louise) Hein, Eagle River; Mrs. Kenneth (Edna)
Markow, Medford; Mrs. Titus (Ella) Heidrich, Kenosha; one step-brother, and four
step-sisters.
In attendance at the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Hein, Rib Lake, Miss
Shirley Hein, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hein, Eagle River; Mr. and Mrs. Titus
Heidrich, Kenosha; Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Markow, Medford; Mr. and Mrs. Jim Amo,
Medford; Mr. and Mrs. M. Howe, Menomonie; Mr. and Mrs. Ted Kaye, Northbrook,
Ill.; Gilbery Hein, Milwaukee; Mrs. Amanda Augustine and Norman, Colby; Mr. and
Mrs. Elroy Augustine, Colby; Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Schultz and family, Colby;
David Schultz, River Falls; Mr. and Mrs. Isadore Umlauft and family, Marshfield;
Mr. and Mrs. Delmar Augustine and family, Curtiss; Mrs. Sophia Burkhardt, Thorp;
Dorothy Fraki, St. Paul, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Donald Slager, St. Paul, Minn.; Mr.
and Mrs. Ben Burkhardt, Thorp; Mr. and Mrs. Mike Becker, Medford; Mr. and Mrs.
