Bastian, Audrey (8 FEB 1964)
Miss Audrey Bastian became the bride of Clair L. Ewert at a candlelight service
at 7 p.m. Saturday in Neenah at the Whiting Memorial Baptist Church.
The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Violet Bastian and Harley Bastian, Appleton,
and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lester Ewert, route 1, Unity.
The bride's friend, Miss Karen Kranzuch, Appleton, was the soloist and sang "The
Lord's Prayer" and "O Perfect Love."
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown fashioned of bridal
taffeta. The fitted bodice had a modified scoop neckline and long sleeves. The
bouffant skirt was fashioned in colonial design caught up at the sides with
self-fabric roses. A deep flounce formed a cathedral train. Jeweled motifs of
rose painted lace finished the neckline and were scattered on the skirt. Her
headpiece was a jeweled crown which held her bouffant elbow length import
illusion veil.
The bride's bouquet was a cascade of pink sweetheart roses and white carnations,
while her maid of honor and bridesmaid carried a cascade of blue and white
carnations. They wore street length light blue chiffon over taffeta dresses with
fitted bodice, bell shaped skirts and slightly scooped back with large bow and
streamers of back waist line.
Miss Elaine Bastian, Appleton, sister of the bride, was maid of honor, and Mrs.
Duane Behn, Appleton, a cousin of the bride, assisted as bridesmaid.
Acting as best man was Cal Ewert, Rhinelander, brother of the groom, while a
friend of the groom, Willard Rasmussen, Fond du Lac, served as groomsan.
Ushering duties were fulfilled by Thomas Ekvall, Neenah, and John Blies, Fond du
Lac.
A reception followed the ceremony in the church parlors.
After a short honeymoon, the newlyweds will live at 211 South Main St., Fond du
Lac, where the bride is employed in the IBM department of Wells Manufacturing
Co. and the groom is employed by IBM as a customer engineer in the Data
Processing Division.
Guests were from Appleton, Waupaca, Rhinelander, Unity, Stevens Point,
Plainfield, Merrill, Wausau, Neenah and Menasha.
