Voight, Mr. and Mrs. Gust (28 Sept 1911-17 Sept 1961)
Mr. and Mrs. Gust Voigt, route 1, Loyal and Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Oestreich,
Spencer, who were married at a double wedding on September28, 1911, in Loyal by
Rev. E. Kemena, celebrated their golden wedding anniversary together Sunday,
September 17 at a 4 o’clock dinner served at the Trinity Lutheran Church dining
hall. The dinner was attended by members of their immediate families,
attendants, and Pastor V. A. Ganz & family, and an open house reception followed
at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Oestreich, route 1. Approximately 150 persons
attended. Nieces of the honored couples, Mrs. Pat Bertz and Mrs. Dale
Weyhmiller, poured.
The parish hall was decorated with seasonal flowers and gold streamers, bells
and leaves. The honored ladies, who are sisters, were presented with corsages of
gold orchids and gold carnations. The husbands wore gold carnations. Singing at
the event were Kay Klemme and Monica Stange, who sang “Tell Me Why” and all the
grandchildren sang “He’s Got The Whole World In His Hands” The couples received
many beautiful gifts.
Attendants present were Henry Ewan of Athens, a cousin of Mrs. Voigt and Mrs.
Theresa Fischer, Spencer, a sister of Mrs. Voigt, who were attendants for Mr.
and Mrs. Voigt, and Mrs. Elizabeth Gierl, Athens, a cousin of Mrs. Oestreich and
Walter Oestreich, Park Falls, a brother of Mr. Oestreich, who attended Mr. and
Mrs. Oestreich for their wedding.
Mr. Voigt was born on January 31, 1884, in the town of Rantoul in Calumet
county, received his education there and became a cheesemaker. His parents were
Herman and Sophia Voigt. After his marriage to the former Elizabeth Lucht, they
lived in Spokeville for five years, in the village of Loyal for 11 years and are
presently living in the town of Sherman. They retired in 1954 and are both
members of the Trinity Lutheran Church.
Mrs. Voight was born in the town of Johnson, Marathon County on March 1, 1890 to
Charley and Emily Lueht. She received her education in Spokeville. Mr. Voigt
served on the Loyal Village Board for seven years, with the Clark Electric Co-op
for seven years, and was a member of the Taft School Board for ten years.
Mr. and Mrs. Voigt have three children, Sophie,(Voigt) Klemme Stratford; Alan
Voight, Neillsville; and James Voigt, Loyal. They also have seven grandchildren.
Mr. Oestreich, who was born on March 30, 1885 in the town of Sherman, was
married to the former Alvina Lucht who was born on October 5, 1887 in Braddock,
Pennsylvania. They farmed in the Town of Sherman for 43 years, and upon their
retirement in 1954 moved to Spencer. They are both members of Trinity Lutheran
Church in Loyal.
Mr. and Mrs. Oestreich have three children, Mrs. Herman (Mildred) Stange,
Neenah; Elmer Oestreich and Raymond Oestreich, Loyal. They also have 6
grandchildren.

Voigt, Forest Voigt, MR. and Mrs. Earl Voigt and Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Voigt,
Chili; Mr. & Mrs. Herman Voigt and Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Craft, Marshfield; Dr. and
Mrs. O. R. Klemme, Kay & Kirk, Stratford; Mr. and Mrs. John Steltenpohl, Mr. and
Mrs. Alan Voigt and Tim and Tammy, and Mr. and Mrs. James West & Carol and Mary
Hughes, Neillsville; Mrs. Henry Lemke on Friday after.
Mr. and Mrs. Herman Stange and family, Neenah; Mrs. Elizabeth Gierl, and Mr. and
Mrs. Henry Ewan, Athens; Mrs. Alvina Yessa and Esther, Edgar; Mr. and Mrs. Carl
Blaubach, Wausau; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Oestreich, Park Falls; Mr. and Mrs. Dennis
Oesterich, and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Oestreich, Wisconsin Rapids; & Mr. and Mrs.
Arnlod Anderson, Medford. Many relatives and friends from Spencer, Loyal,
Neillsville, Schofield and Marshfield also attended.
