Arciszewski, Stanley John (11 January 1924 - 1 February 2013)

Stanley J. Arciszewski, age 89, of Thorp, passed away at Oakbrook Health & Rehab, in Thorp, on Friday February 1, 2013. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 6, 2013, at St. Bernard-St. Hedwig Catholic Church in Thorp. Rev. Don Meuret officiated and burial followed in New St. Hedwig’s Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Travis Wright, Jeff Meyer, lance Haas, Shane Swope, Chad Bohm and Vern Nystrom. Visitation was held on Tuesday, February 5, 2013, at Thorp Funeral Home from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visitation was also held at the church, on Wednesday, Beginning with a 9:30 a.m. rosary service and continuing until 10:30 a.m.

Stanley John Arciszewski was born on January 11, 1924, in Thorp, WI, the son of Frank and Anna (Dziedziak) Arciszewski. He was raised on the family farm and received his education in Thorp. Stanley was united in marriage to Dolores Wnek on October 11, 1947, at St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church in Thorp. In 1947, he took over the operation of his family farm, in the Town of Reseburg, and farmed until retiring in 1986. They continued to live on the farm until 2008, at which time they moved to Morgan Plaza.

He was a member of St. Bernard-St. Hedwig Catholic Church and had served as the town supervisor for the Town of Reseburg. Stanley had many interests, including woodworking, especially making bird houses, following local sporting events, the Minnesota Twins and the Green Bay Packers.

Stanley will be dearly missed by his wife, Dolores, of Thorp; his children: Arlene (Dennis) Meyer of Thorp, Nancy (Thomas) Bogumill of Wausau, and Bill (Trish) Arciszewski of Thorp; eight grandchildren: Seven great-grandchildren; two sisters: Gertrude Jasinek of Montgomery, IL, and Julia Arciszewski of Marshfield, WI; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Leo and Adolph Tylka; and four sisters: Dorothy Arciszewski, Stella Zukowski, Lilly Joszwiak, and Josephine Para.
