Mrs. Melvin Moen, 66, of Stanley, formerly of Abbotsford,
died Saturday, Jan. 4, after an illness of several years.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 at
the Plombon Funeral Home at Stanley with the Rev. Charles E. Glidden, pastor of
the First Presbyterian church of Abbotsford officiating.
Burial was made in the Abbotsford cemetery.
Mrs. Moen, the former Anna Ledeke, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Gottfried Ledeke, was born Feb. 13, 1897 in Stanley.
She attended school there and was employed there as a telephone operator
until her marriage to Melvin Moen which took place Aug. 6, 1917 at Chippewa
Falls.
They made their home in Abbotsford until 1939 when they
moved to Stanley.
Surviving her are her husband at Stanley, and three
daughters, Mrs. Robert (Wanita) Knight, Miss Lorraine Moen, and Mrs. Walter
(Ruth) Fitense, and six grand children, all of Abbotsford.
Five sisters also survive.
