------Fierke, Marilyn (28 DEC 1963)

Miss Marilyn Fierke and David Metz exchanged marriage promises Saturday morning, Dec. 28, before a nuptial high mass at Sacred Heart Catholic church, Stetsonville.  The Rev. James Harte read the service at 11:30 o’clock.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. George Metz and Victor Fierke, all of rural Stetsonville.

The bride was attired in a floor length gown of lace over satin, long pointed sleeves and a scalloped neckline.  A crown of seed pearls secured her fingertip nylon tulle veil and she carried a cascade bouquet of red roses.

Attending her as matron of honor was her sister, Mrs. Irve Klieforth of Abbotsford.  Miss Terry Janke, cousin of the groom, was the bridesmaid.

They wore street length sheath dresses of moss green peau de sole satin made with an overskirt.  They carried floral arrangements of poinsettias surrounded by white mums.  Their head pieces of rosettes matched their dresses.

Harvey Metz served his cousin as best man and Irve Klieforth was groomsman.  The ushering duties were performed by Arnold Fierke, a brother of the bride, and Norman Metz, a cousin of the groom.

Following the ceremony dinner was served at the Rainbow Club.  A reception and supper were held at the village hall at Abbotsford, attended by 85 guests.

They came from Marshfield, Mississippi City, Stetsonville, Medford, Dorchester and Abbotsford.

Both the bride and groom attended the Medford high school.  They will make their future home in Massachusetts where the groom is stationed at Otis Air Force Base.
