Wildish, Bertha (14 September 1884 - 20 April 1968)

Funeral services are to be held today (Thursday) at 1:30 p.m. from the Georgas Funeral Home for Mrs. Bertha Wildish, 83, of Rt. 1 Merrillan, who died Saturday in Vancouver, Wash. B. F. Hartman of Marshfield will officiate. Burial will be made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Mr. Wildish, the former Bertha Zschernitz, was born September 14, 1884, in Germany. She received part of her education in Germany. At the age of 11 she came with her parents to the United States. The family settled in Chicago, Ill., later moving to Clark County. She was married in Neillsville January 26, 1900, to Allen Wildish, who died in 1936. She had been spending the winter with her daughter in Vancouver, Wash.

She was a member of the Seventh day Adventist Church.

Mrs. Wildish is survived by eight children: Hugh Wildish of Merrillan, John Wildish of East Helena, Mont., Mrs. George (Leah) Church of Neillsville, Mrs. Henry (Anita) Beaver of Cashton, Mrs. Aline Stillwell of Vancouver, Wash., Donald Wildish of East Helena, Mont., Mrs. Lester (Hope) Zasoba of West Allis, and Mrs. Jack (Marium) Des Ormeaux of Port Arthur, Tex. Other survivors include 32 grandchildren, 76 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services were held Thursday from the Georgas Funeral Home for Mrs. Bertha Wildish, 83, of rural Merrillan, who died April 20, in Vancouver, Wash. B. F. Hartman of Marshfield officiated. Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Pallbearers were: Louis and Robert Zschernitz, John Wildish, Donald Opelt, Dennis F. Stillwell and Eugene Church. Mrs. Linden E. Fall sang, “Back of the Clouds” and “Beyond the Sunset” accompanied by Mrs. B. F. Hartman.
