Humbird (25 April 1968)
Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Holman, Jerry and Eddie of Chicago, and Mrs. Ida Holman and
Joyce Bredesen of Osseo spent Sunday afternoon at the Elmer Duerkop home.
Miss Lucille Dunn and mother, of Winona spent the weekend at their farm home
west of town.
Mr. and Mrs. Donald Primmer entertained his sister and family from out of town
over the weekend.
Mr. and Mrs. Levi Fitzmaurice and Mr. and Mrs. Jake Lightfoot spent Sunday
evening at the Jim Wall home.
Mrs. Chester Bailey entertained at a “paint” party Thursday night at her home.
Mr. and Mrs. Cullen Dignin were in Neillsville Tuesday and called on those from
here who are in Memorial Home, and found them all about as usual.
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Laffe drove to Loyal Sunday to join Mr. and Mrs. Kurt Schlei
of Green Bay for a visit at the Ben Clouse home.
Mrs. Gladys Losey and Mrs. Dorothy Sieg of Fairchild, Mrs. Eva Laffe, Mrs. Nina
Stuve and Mrs. Harriette Gorst attended the annual review of Merrillan chapter,
Order of Eastern Star, Monday night.
Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Markham called Sunday evening at the Elmer Duerkop home.
Mrs. Evelyn Castner and sister, Mrs. Rose Smith, called at the Fred Barr home
Monday forenoon.
Mrs. Christine Hanson, who recently had eye surgery, was able to be in her home
for a few days last week.
Mrs. Helene Nelson of Eau Claire brought her mother, Mrs. M. Newton, home Sunday
after nearly a week’s visit in her home. She was accompanied by Mrs. Ruth
Peterson of Eau Claire. The ladies were dinner and afternoon guests at the
Newton home.
