Sternitzky, Edward (26 August 1877 - 30 April 1968)
Funeral services were held Friday afternoon from the Zion Lutheran Church in
Granton for Edward Sternitzky, 90, a lifelong resident of the Town of Lynn, who
died April 30, in Neillsville. The Rev. Roland Roehrs officiated. Burial was
made in the parish cemetery.
Mr. Sternitzky was born August 26, 1877, in the Town of Lynn, where he had
farmed. He was married June 11, 1903, in the Mapleworks Lutheran Church in
Granton to the former Elizabeth Hillert. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church
in Granton.
Mr. Sternitzky is survived by his wife; four sons, Arnold, Herbert, Edwin and
Erwin, all of the Granton area; two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Bierwagen of Grass
Valley, Cal.; and Mrs. Dora Moh of Granton; nine grandchildren and nine
great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements were made by the Gilbertson Funeral Home in Granton.
Pallbearers were: Louis Helm, Henry Helm, Ernest Puschek, Walter Steinbach,
Lucien Moh and Lloyd Ure.
Mrs. Roger Helm sang, “Rock of Ages” and “What a Friend we have in Jesus,”
accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Leland Garbisch.
