Turek, Mr./Mrs. Joseph (Gold - 19 MAY 1964)
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Turek of Gilman celebrated their golden wedding anniversary
on Sunday, May 24th, 1964.
Their special day began with the family attending mass at St. Peter and Paul
Church.
They were honored guests at a family dinner and an afternoon reception at the
home of a son, Edward of Gilman, given by their seven children.
A golden anniversary wedding cake flanked by gold candles and bouquets of yellow
chrysanthemums and iris graced the table where buffet refreshments were serv ed.
Mrs. Turek greeted her guests wearing a frosted green crepe lace dress with a
corsage of yellow roses and the groom had a yellow carnation boutonniere in his
suite lapel.
Mrs. Turek's two daughters assisted her with her gifts, they also received a
purse of money and many cards.
The former Mary Strzok and Joseph Turek were married May 19, 1914 at St.
Hedwig's Church in Thorp, Wis.
They have lived their entire lives in Gilman.
Their seven children are Mrs. William (Emily) Bruch of Skokie, Ill.; Mrs. Edward
(Stella) Meyers of Stanley; five sons: Ted and Leon of Belvidere, Ill.; Edward
of Gilman; Clarence of Sheldon & Louis of West Bend, Wis.
They have 15 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson.
Their were guests from Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Thorp, Boyd, Lublin and Eau
Claire, Wis.
