Hoesly, Clarence William (12 November 1937 - 6 February 2013)

Clarence Hoesly, 75, of Granton died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield after a long battle with the blood disorder, Myelodyspastic syndrome.

Clarence William Hoesly was born Nov. 12, 1937, in Loyal, the son of Baltz and Leona (Kessler) Hoesly. He attended and graduated from Loyal High School and was united in marriage to Sandy Lezotte. Clarence farmed his entire life in the Town of York. Along with farming, he also worked for the Mullins York Cheese Factory hauling milk and making cheese. He also worked for Plautz Brothers and Boon Brothers.

He was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Loyal. He was the Town supervisor and chairman for the Town of York. Clarence was a committee member for the Farm Service Agency (FSA). He served on the board of directors and as secretary for Clark Electric and he also served on the board of directors and was treasurer for the Dairyland Power Co-op.

His enjoyment was farming and the animals on the farm. He also enjoyed is 36 years of singing with the Clark County Male Chorus. Other enjoyments included square dancing, socializing and telling stories, boating and picnics. Most of all, though, Clarence enjoyed spending time with his family and being with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Sandy; seven children, Dean (Mary) Hoesly of Granton, Kelly (Steve) Busse of Prescott, Ronda (Todd) Schultz of Stratford, Rosalind (Gary) Ross of Custer, Jane (Troy) Cina of Mindoro, Peggy (Ed) Stumpner of Loyal, and Karl (Jessica) Hoesly of Osseo; grandchildren, Nicole, Danielle and Paul Hoesly; Michael (Alyssa) Busse; Melissa (Matthew) Brand; Hunter and Ashley Schultz; Ben, Phillip, Garrett, Katherine, Olivia, Matthew, Julia and Jacob Ross; Tiffany, Janelle, Amber and Tyler Cina; Miranda and Cole Stumpner; and Gage, Trenton and Hutch Hoesly. Clarence is also survived by a sister, Kathy Deganhardt of Green Bay.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother Irvin; and a sister, Virginia.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Loyal. The Celebrant was Fr. Steve Brice. Interment will be in the Town of York Cemetery at a later date. Visitation was from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church.
