RedCloud, Marlin J. (22 October 1956 - 20 January 2013)

Marlin J. RedCloud, 56, of Hatfield/Merrillan passed away Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013, at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center, La Crosse. He was born Oct. 22, 1956. He was raised by his grandmother Nellie RedCloud and his father Merlin RedCloud Sr., in Hatfield.

Marlin graduated from Monroe High School at Monroe. He then went on to attend Chippewa Valley Technical College, receiving his certification in for training and emergency services.

Marlin worked for Studer Implement in More, Cex ha ci in Nekoosa, Badger Ammunition and Kin Construction.

He is survived by his daughters, Rebekka and Krista RedCloud; sons, Randall (Regina) RedCloud and Brandon (Haleigh) Rave; 11 grandchildren; sisters, Willa RedCloud and Marilyn (Jose) Arlequin; brothers, Ed “Gutch” (Roxie) Cloud and Willie (Crystal) Young; other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Marlin was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Keith; father, Merlin Sr.; grandma, Nellie RedCloud; brothers, Merlin Jr., Mitchell and Randall.

Family and friends were invited for visitation Wednesday, Jan. 23, from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the residence. Traditional Native American services, followed with burial, were held at noon at the RedCloud residence, W8392 Palm Road, Merrillan. Dennis Funmaker presided over services.

Buswell Funeral Home of Black River Falls assisted the family with arrangements.
