Degenhardt, Dorothy #2 (06 JUL 1963)
Rev. Norbert E. King officiated at the nuptial High Mass
Saturday, July 6, in St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, which united Dorothy
Degenhardt, Loyal, and Donald Rottscheit, Spencer, in marriage.
Mr. and Mrs. Leo Degenhardt, Loyal, route 2 are the parents of the bride
and the groom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Ausbourne, route 2, Spencer.
The bride ascended the altar in a floor length bridal
gown of Chantilly lace styled with a jewel trimmed Sabrina neckline and long
sleeves. The full hoop skirt of lace
over taffeta net ruffles was fashioned by all around tiers ending in a chapel
sweep. Her finger tip imported
illusion veil was attached to a crown with crystal trim.
Red roses surrounded by white gardenias and lily of the valley, centered
with a white orchid and streamers decked with red roses and lily of the valley
were carried by the bride.
The maid of honor, Barbara Degenhardt, a sister of the
bride and the bridesmaid, Eileen Ausbourne, Spencer, a sister of the groom, wore
street length formals of orchid nylon sheer with a draped neckline and cap
sleeves. A smooth fitting midriff
topped with fully gathered skirt which was completed in back by a self fabric
rose and sash. Halo veils were
attached to their matching crowns which were trimmed with pearls.
They carried bouquets of orchid and white carnations.
The groom chose his brother, Allen Rottscheit, Spencer
to be his best man and Darrell Brost, Marshfield, as groomsman.
Ushers were Paul Degenhardt, Abbotsford, a brother of the bride, and Bob
Rottscheit, Marshfield, a cousin of the groom.
Wedding day events included a reception at the home of
the bride’s parents and a dinner and supper which were served in the church
dining hall.
The bride who is a 1960 graduate of Loyal High School is
employed at Stufo(sp) Toy Factory in St. Pau., Minnesota.
Her husband was graduated in 1959 from Columbus High School, Marshfield
and is employed at the McCroey Corporation in St.
Paul. The couple is making
their home in St. Paul.
