Robert Brett and Charles Butterbrodt, Loyal, seated guests who came to attend the wedding of Shirley E. Rondorf and Kenneth Lee Verhalen at St. Mary’s Catholic church, Greenwood, on Saturday, July 13. Father Norbert Weber officiated at the 10 a.m. Nuptial High Mass which was sung by the church choir.

The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Rondorf, route 1, Greenwood, wore a floor length gown of Chantilly lace, the fitted bodice featuring a jewel trimmed Sabrina neckline and the bouffant skirt styled with all-around tiers of lace over taffeta.  The nylon net ruffles ended in a chapel sweep.  Her bouffant veil of silk illusion was secured by a crown of pearlized orange blossoms. Her bouquet consisted of yellow roses with ivy stephanotis.

The bride chose Bonnie Verhalen, Loyal, a sister of the groom to be maid of honor.  Bridesmaids were Janet Rondorf, Greenwood, a cousin of the bride and Patricia Susa, Milwaukee.  The ladies appeared in aqua street length frocks of silk organza over taffeta styled with a draped neckline and matching pedal headpieces.  They held champagne carnations with green and net.

Attending the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Verhalen, route 2, Loyal, as best man, was the bride’s brother, Raymond Rondorf of Fort Belvoir, Virginia.  Groomsmen were Terrance Rogstad, Loyal, a cousin of the groom; and Robert Rondorf, Greenwood, a brother of the bride.

A beige dress with matching accessories was worn by the mother of the bride and the mother of the groom waore a pink dress with matching accessories.

Wedding day events included a dinner, reception and supper served at the American Legion Hall in Greenwood.

The bride is a 1962 graduate of Greenwood High School and her husband was graduated from Loyal High School in 1958 is employed as a carpenter.  The bride is employed at Clark Electric Cooperative in Greenwood.  Following a honeymoon trip through northern Wisconsin, they will make their home on route 2, Loyal.
