Dix, Diane (07 SEP 1963)

St. Anthony’s Catholic Church was the setting for the wedding Saturday of Dianne Dix, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wilburt Dix, route 1, Marshfield and Ronald Benedict Braun, son of Mrs. Benedict Braun, Loyal.

Rev. Norbert E. King celebrated the Nuptial High Mass at 11 a.m. which was sung by the church choir.

The bride approached the altar in a floor length gown of white brocade with a sweetheart neckline.  Also featured in the gown was an empire waistline which topped the modified controlled skirt front fashioned by small pleats.  The full back was accented by a self fabric cabbage rose and small sash ending in a chapel sweep.  A French illusion bouffant veil was attached to her water lily crown of lace and pearls.

Marilyn Dix of Marshfield was her sister’s maid of honor and another sister, Jacquelyn Dix also of Marshfield was bridesmaid.  They wore peacock blue street length dresses of embossed taffeta featuring a bateau neckline and elbow length sleeves.  The bell shaped skirts were gathered at the waistline and accented at intervals with small self fabric bows.  They wore matching triple tiered crowns with pearl and sequin trim and face veils.

Jerome Braun, Loyal, a brother of the groom served as best man and Donald Becker of Loyal as groomsman.  Ushering duties were performed by Donavon Dix of Wisconsin Rapids, a cousin of the bride and Joseph Picconie, Milwaukee, a brother in law of the groom.

A brunch which followed the wedding rites was served in the church hall.  A reception, supper and dance were held at the Eagle’s Hall in Marshfield.

The new Mrs. Braun is a 1959 graduate of Marshfield Senior High School and her husband was graduated in 1963 from Wisconsin State College, River Falls.  He is also a graduate of Loyal High School.  The couple will make their home at Iola where Mr. Braun will be a teacher at Iola High School.
