Mills, Charlotte Emma (5 December 1881 - 26 May 1968)
Mrs. Charlotte Emma Mills, 80, of Rt. 3 Neillsville died Sunday. Funeral
services were held Wednesday from the United Methodist Church in Christie. The
Rev. Carl Booher of Greenwood officiated. Burial was made in the Neillsville
City Cemetery.
Mrs. Mills was born December 5, 1881, in Augusta. She attended Augusta schools
and the rural school in Tioga. On August 22, 1905, she married Claude Mills in
Tioga. Mr. Mills died in 1949. They farmed in the Town of Weston until 1942, and
then moved to the Town of York. In 1949, Mrs. Mills went to live with her son,
Glen, until 1961. She then went to North Carolina to be with another son, the
Rev. Orin Mills. In 1967, she returned to Neillsville and had been making her
home with her son, Lee.
Mrs. Mills is survived by six children: Calvin of Owen; Lee of Rt. 3,
Neillsville, Glen of Loyal, Mrs. Alfred (Jessie) Foemmel of Rt. 1, Neillsville,
Mrs. William (Lura) Genteman of Rt. 1 Neillsville (York), and the Rev. Orin
Mills of High Point, N. C., by a sister, Mrs. Edith Pugh of Seattle, Wash.; and
by a brother, James Asplin of Waupaca. She is also survived by 21 grandchildren
and 25 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Charlotte Emma Mills, 80, rural Neillsville, who died
here May 26, were held May 29, from the united Methodist Church in Christie. The
Rev. Carl Booher of Greenwood officiated. Burial was made in the Neillsville
City Cemetery.
Six grandsons served as the pallbearers. They were: Donald, Allen, Glenn R. and
William Mills, Verne and Larry Genteman. Arlyn Mills, a grandson, sang, “Under
his Wings” and “In the Garden,” accompanied by Mrs. Arlyn Mills.

Mrs. Jim Asplin of Waupaca; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Gierl and family of Bessemer,
Mich.; William Mills of Madison. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Mills of Moose Lake, Minn.;
Mrs. Harold Walker of Osseo; Mr. and Mrs. Foster Will, Mr. and Mrs. Calvin
Mills, Mr. and Mrs. Arlyn Mills and family, all of Owen; Mrs. Marvin Anderegg
and family of Loyal; Mr. and Mrs. Tony Ulesich and Mr. and Mrs. William Lucas of
Willard; Mr. and Mrs. John Balcer of Thorp; Mr. and Mrs. Ray Hurlburt of Black
River Falls; Mr. and Mrs. Chris Christopherson of Owen.
From Marshfield were: Mrs. Stella Asplin, Miss Lynn Asplin, Kirk Asplin, Mr. and
Mrs. Ray Shaw, Mrs. Ray Ampe; from Greenwood were Mrs. Viv Carteron, Mrs.
