Grassl, Kathleen H. (Marriage - 1 June 1968)
Miss Kathleen H. Grassl, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Grassl, Jr., of Rt. 2
Auburndale, and Joseph G. Walter, son of Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Walter, Sr., of
Rt. 2 Loyal, were married Saturday in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Auburndale
in a double ring ceremony performed by the Rev. Joseph Grassl.
Sister M. Innocentia played the organ as the St. Mary’s choir sang nuptial
music. Bouquets of pompoms decorated the altar.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a full skirt of nylon sheer,
styled with lace ruffles down the front and around the back. The all-lace bodice
featured a scoop neckline trimmed with sequins. A sequin crown held her illusion
veil. Red and white roses and stephanotis were included in the bridal bouquet.
Her maid-of-honor was Miss Karen Grassl of Auburndale. Bridesmaids were Mrs.
Anthony Walter, Jr., of Loyal, Mrs. Myron Grassl of Wisconsin Rapids, Miss
Janice Walter of Loyal, Miss Donna Grassl of Auburndale and Mrs. Delmaine
Schwellenbach of Marshfield. Each was attired in a pink floor length gown and
each carried a miniature tinted-pink carnation.
Anthony Walter, Jr., of Loyal was bestman. Groomsmen were George Pumper of
Milladore, Myron Grassl of Wisconsin Rapids, Richard Pumper of Milladore,
Raymond Grassl of Auburndale and Delmaine Schwellenbach of Marshfield. Ushers
were Fred Pumper of Madison and Floyd Zopfi of Stratford.
The bride, a 1966 graduate of Auburndale High School, has been employed by the
Weyerhauser Company in Marshfield. Mr. Walter is a 1962 graduate of Loyal High
School and is engaged in farming. They will reside on Rt. 2 Loyal.
