Hoops, John (2 OCT 1855 – 18 May 1947)
John Hoops Funeral Services
Funeral services for John Hoops, 91, who died at the home of his son, Henry,
Town of Sherman, Sunday night, May 18, were held Thursday afternoon at the
Trinity Lutheran Church preceded by a short service at the Swarthout Funeral
Home.
The Rev. A. C. Stapel, pastor, officiated and burial was made in the West
Spencer cemetery beside his wife, who died in 1933.
Six grandsons, Raymond, Lawrence and Elmer Hoops, Norbert Mellenthin, Vern
Martin and Sherwood Plath, were pallbearers. Flowers were carried by
granddaughters and great-granddaughters, Mrs. Mable Morrow, Virginia Luepke,
Pauline Molle, Doris Graham, Juanita Molle and Iris Voelker.
Relatives and friends from out of town to attend the rites were Mr. and Mrs.
Harry Graham, Sycamore, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Norbert Mellenthin, and Mr. and Mrs.
Sherwood Plath and son, Oshkosh; Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Hoops and Mr. and Mrs.
